Zcash is the network
A separate blockchain with native ZEC and optional shielded transactions. The Academy teaches it; z.cash is the official source.

Sapling (sapling.cash) is a platform
An independent launchpad and terminal on Solana that uses bridged ZEC. Not the 2018 Zcash upgrade with the same name.

Bridged ZEC is not shielded
ZEC on Solana follows Solana’s rules, so its transfers are public. Shielding only exists for native ZEC on Zcash.
